Call for Cases 2026 GSACS Stump the Chairs Session

Dear Colleagues,

Do you have a case that challenged your assumptions, sparked lively debate, or left even the most experienced surgeons searching for answers?

The Georgia Society of the American College of Surgeons (GSACS) invites you to submit your most unique, mystifying, and surprising surgical cases for Stump the Chairs at the 2026 GSACS Annual Meeting.

This interactive session is designed to engage attendees through compelling case presentations that test clinical reasoning, encourage discussion, and highlight valuable surgical lessons. We are looking for cases that feature unexpected diagnoses, unusual presentations, complex decision-making, innovative management strategies, or outcomes that taught an important lesson.

Whether your case involves a rare pathology, an unexpected intraoperative finding, a diagnostic dilemma, or a management challenge, we want to hear about it.

Submission Guidelines

  • Brief case summary

  • Pertinent imaging or pathology (if applicable)

  • Key teaching points

  • Final diagnosis and outcome

Selected presenters will have the opportunity to share their cases with colleagues from across Georgia while challenging our session chairs to solve the mystery before the diagnosis is revealed.

Help make this year’s Stump the Chairs session one of the highlights of the Annual Meeting. We encourage submissions from surgeons across all specialties and at every stage of practice.

Please submit your case by Friday, July 20, 2026.

We look forward to seeing the fascinating cases that have challenged and inspired you.

Sincerely,
Benjie Christie, MD, FACS
President, Georgia Society of the American College of Surgeons
