Drawing from a background as a former military general surgeon, this presentation will explore the critical decisions made when faced with limited resources and competing risks in pediatric surgical emergencies.

Dr. Luke Neff is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC, with a passion for surgical innovation and pediatric trauma. He’s dedicated to resident education and finding new solutions to clinical challenges. His background includes military service in Afghanistan, where he performed pediatric surgeries, and extensive research in resuscitation, for which he’s secured significant DOD funding. Dr. Neff is also a medical device innovator, holding multiple patents.
