2017 Leadership and Advocacy Summit Resident and YF Fellowships
Dear GSACS Resident and Young Fellows Members,
Are you interested in attending the 2017 ACS Leadership and Advocacy Summit? The Georgia Society of the American College of Surgeons (GSACS) is seeking applicants for its annual Leadership Fellowships. Every year GSACS provides a Fellowship opportunity for a Surgical Resident and a Young Surgeon (within 5 years of residency completion) to attend the ACS Leadership and Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C. (May 6-9, 2017). The sixth annual Summit is a dual meeting that offers volunteer leaders and advocates specialized educational sessions focused on effective surgeon leadership, interactive advocacy training and coordinated visits to Congressional offices.
Surgical Residents and Young Surgeons that are members of GSACS may apply for this fellowship by submitting a letter via email to email@example.com, detailing how they believe attending the ACS Leadership/Advocacy Summit will positively impact their career in surgery. The Fellowship provides $1500 to cover the costs of transportation, lodging and registration to attend the Summit. All applicants must be available to attend all events at the Summit including the Congressional visits on Tuesday, May 9, the GSACS Annual Meeting in August and submit a report to the GSACS Leadership following the Summit.
The deadline for GSACS Leadership Fellowship Applications is March 3, 2017 with winners notified by March 10, 2017.
