Action Alert from ACS – Oppose Congressional Surprise Billing Proposal

The ACS needs your help. Earlier this week congressional leaders released an unworkable solution to stop surprise medical bills that contradicts the solutions ACS outlined last week and utilizes the savings created by the bad policy in this latest proposal to offset other congressional health care costs. As a result, the ACS publicly opposed this new proposal.

In addition to continuing to utilize SurgeonsVoice to write your members of Congress about this issue, please call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your representative and senators’ Washington, DC offices to voice your concerns and discourage surprise billing from being used as an offset and included in a year-end spending package.

Message: Please tell Rep.__/Sen.__ that as a surgeon in GA, I ask that you oppose rushing flawed policy to stop surprise medical billing through Congress, especially when the goal is to use such policy to pay for other health care costs. All committees should weigh-in on this issue before voting on a comprehensive solution.
