Attention Residents & Young Fellows – Fellowship Opportunity to Attend 2019 ACS Leadership/Advocacy Summit
Are you interested in attending the 2109 American College of Surgeons Leadership and Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC, March 30-April 2, 2019?
The Georgia Society of the American College of Surgeons (GSACS) is seeking applicants for its annual Leadership Fellowships.
Every year GSACS provides a Fellowship opportunity for a Surgical Resident and a Young Surgeon (within 5 years of residency completion) to attend the ACS Leadership and Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C. (March 30 – April 2, 2019). The Summit is a dual meeting that offers volunteer leaders and advocates specialized educational sessions focused on effective surgeon leadership, interactive advocacy training and coordinated visits to Congressional offices.
Surgical Residents and Young Surgeons that are members of GSACS may apply for this fellowship by submitting a letter via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, detailing how they believe attending the ACS Leadership/Advocacy Summit will impact their career in surgery. The Fellowship provides $1500 to cover the costs of transportation, lodging and registration to attend the Summit. All applicants must be available AND attend all events at the Summit including the Congressional visits on Tuesday, April 2nd, attend the 2019 GSACS Annual Meeting August 16-18, 2019 and submit a report to the GSACS Leadership following the Summit.
The deadline for GSACS Leadership Fellowship Applications is February 1, 2018 with winners notified by February 15, 2019.
